Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran, born March 10, 1949 is an American businesswoman and investor. She is also a public speaker as a consultant, columnist syndicated to a speaker writer, author and television show host. The Corcoran Group is a New York-based real estate brokerage. In 2001, the company was transferred to NRT at $66 million. Corcoran resigned from the company shortly after. One of the show's first "Shark" investors, Corcoran has appeared in all 12 seasons of ABC's Shark Tank until today. In February of 2020, she has made 53 deals on the show, with the biggest one being $350,000 for 40% of Coverplay. Corcoran was the second child of 10 kids born to an Irish Catholic couple of working class in Edgewater, New Jersey. Florence was her mother, who was an errand-taker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. her father, was a skilled worker throughout Corcoran's early years. The family relied sometimes on the free delivery of food from a nearby supermarket. Corcoran recalls her father being an intoxicated man who would sometimes treat her mother with disrespect and disrespect, especially when he had been drinking. Corcoran was struggling in school, and discovered later that she had dyslexia. Corcoran attended an Catholic elementary school, and later began high school in Englewood at St. Cecilia High School. After flunking several courses during her freshman year, Corcoran transferred to Leonia High School in Leonia, where she was a D-student when she graduated.
