Kyra Minturn

 Kyraminturn Sedgwick was born on August 19, 1965. She is an American actress and producer. Her most well-known work is playing the role of the Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson (TVN crime drama The Closer). Sedgwick earned the Golden Globe Award in 2007 for her performance as Johnson and also an Emmy Award 2010 for her portrayal. After the seventh season Sedgwick won the Golden Globe Award in 2007 and an Emmy Award in 2010. The show ended on August 13, 2012. Sedgwick's recurring role of Madeline Wuntch in the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine is also noteworthy. Sedgwick was nominated for a Golden Globe award in 1995 for her performance in Something to Talk About. Sedgwick's film credits include Oliver Stone's Born on the Fourth of July (1989) and Cameron Crowe's Solos (1992), Heart and Souls (93), Phenomenon (2000), What's Cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). She was also in The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was the daughter of Patricia Rosenwald who was a speech and family therapist and Henry Dwight Sedgwick IV Venture capitalist. Her birthplace was in New York City. Her mother was Jewish. Her father was an Episcopalian who was with English heritage. Sedgwick has publicly declared her Jewish heritage and has said she participates in Passover seders.
